With more than two decades of experience in some of the top kitchens in Ireland from The Shelbourne to Odessa, Il Segreto, The Unicorn and Dunbrody House, Aidan Noctor the chef and owner of The Hungry Duck and his film & television producer wife Lesley O’Connor opened the restaurant in January 2016.
Their aim was to create a vibrant brunch location with great plates of food, delicious coffee from an artisan roastery, cocktails and vins. Having grown up a stone’s throw from the restaurant’s front door Aidan seized the opportunity to bring his ideas and food to his childhood neighbourhood.
With a strong focus on seasonality and using local produce whenever possible Aidan and his team make and create pretty much everything in the little restaurant on the corner of Kimmage Road West, thus creating distinctive and signature dishes from the French Toast Brioche with Mascarpone to the Avocado Poached Eggs with Fior di Latte and our Pan Roasted Asparagus with toasted hazelnuts.
